 Barry Swinfield and his team undertook a tricky extension to our 1860's cottage. The work required demolishing almost 50% of the existing property and rebuilding a two story addition. The site was difficult to work in due to limited access, particularly the excavation for new footings and delivery of materials. Before the work started, Barry said it would take 12 weeks, which it did almost to the day. Throughout the job, the workforce were very efficient, friendly, good humoured when problems arose and sympathetic to my wife and I living in a challenging environment. I would wholeheartedly recommend The extension builders and would happily use them again. Graham and Jo Osborn.

Don’t post a lot of reviews but thought this was worth recommending, picked the extension builders because they do not take any deposits, so I felt my money was safe as you have to be so cautious these days. I only paid when areas of work had been done. I had my old garage full of junk turned into an additional playroom for the children. All the work was carried out in a good timeline as per the quote supplied which was very detailed and surprisingly came in under budget due to some tweaks from the original plans. All the lads respected me, and my property and the site was left clean, and liveable until it was completed, Supper happy with my new room

We used Barry during Spring 2025 (March-July). We had a great experience with Barry and his team. Everyone was incredibly friendly and hard working. The speed in which the entire job was done was incredible

One of the main reasons we went for Barry (as well as both my wife and I feeling comfortable with him) was because his quote had so much detail. Where other quotes were just 1 or 2 pages, this quote had 16 pages detailing each specific job and the labour/materials required. This meant we could add or remove specific jobs, and meant we felt confident that there would unlikely be any dispute as to what is/is not included in the job.

Barry's quote was one of the best value, but it was our first meeting and the in depth quote that really supported us using him, and we have zero regrets.

A fabulous new space was created at our home which has transformed our home. The team did a really good job at an affordable price . We are very happy with the result . Scoring 4.5 . Would have liked a cleaner site.
